Note: Children 18 months to 5 years old will take classes in our Preschool Program.

Class structure...
Every recreational class works on every event, doing two events per class for girls and boys.  Students are placed in the appropriate class based on their ability and are allowed to progress at their own pace.

Level 1 (60 min) - No experience needed!  These classes are for beginner students with a focus on basic skills on each event and building those muscles!  This is the time where the students are practicing cartwheels and handstands on the grass at home.

Level 2 (75 min) - These classes are for students who have mastered the basic skills on each event and have enough strength to build on those skills.  At this level, the students' confidence builds and you may catch your child trying to do flips over the dog or on the furniture.

Level 3 (90 min)
- This is an intermediate level class.  These students now have an understanding of how to control and support their bodies and are able perform more
advanced moves.  At this point, fathers are suddenly unable to show the kids how to perform skills correctly at home.

PALS (90 min) - PALS stands for Progressive Advanced Levels and is the most advanced recreational class at GSG.  These students are working on difficult skills that require lots of strength, flexibility and confidence.  They have a real love for the sport now and parents have stopped asking what all the skills are called.

Tumbling (60 min) - This is a class devoted entirely to building tumbling skills.  Beginners through advanced tumblers are welcome!

How students progress through the levels...
The student progresses at their own pace. Progress Reports are on our attendance clip boards so the teaches have easy access to the students  skill card. When the athlete completes a skill during class they get to ring the gong and put a sticker on their card at the end of class.
When the skills on the sheet are all filled up they move to the next level!!

Class schedules and tuition information...
We are always adding new classes as our existing ones fill up, so our schedule changes often.  Give us a call to find out availability in our current classes. 818-558-1177

Want to come more than once a week?  No problem!  You can come once a week, twice a week or to every available
class if you would like!  Just let us know!

Tuition is based on how many hours your child is at the gym each week.  Click here to see our tuition fees and
payment policies.  You can pay monthly (due on the 25th of each month). The first sibling gets a 10% discount and the second sibling gets a 15% discount.

Do I have to compete?
No.  Our recreational program is focused on skill progression and having a ton of FUN while doing it.  We do not learn routines and do not expect flawless execution of skills.  However, your child will have the opportunity to take their learning as far as their ability allows them within the recreational program.

What if my child wants to compete?
If your child is interested in competing and has progressed up to the PALS class, they have the opportunity to try out for team.  Talk to your child's coach about how it works and check out our Competitive Program page.
